The third-ever Finnish Chair Dance & Chair Acrobatics SM & Showcase competition of 2025 is over! This year’s competition saw a record number of participants—around 89 competitors—and about 100 spectators!
The next competition will be held on February 7, 2026, at Kangasala High School!

What is Chair Dance & Chair Acrobatics SM & Showcase?
This is a low-threshold competition open to everyone, regardless of background in the sport. We reserve the right to make changes as we continue to grow into a more international competition!

Chair Dance – All Styles
No acrobatic tricks are required, but they are allowed. However, acrobatics are not evaluated and do not bring extra points.
Chair Acrobatics
Performances with more acrobatics. Dance elements are not judged and do not bring extra points. However, overall scores are influenced by how well movements are connected.
Chair Acro & Dance
A combination of both chair dance and chair acrobatics—everything is evaluated!
Showcase
All categories are divided into solo, duo, and group divisions based on registration, as well as children and adult age groups.
All categories are open to all ages—for both competitors and spectators. The chair is the common element, and it can be any kind—wooden, metal, plastic, or anything in between!
This competition is about gaining performance experience and creating a fun and inclusive competition environment. We follow the principles of a safer space in the event.
